Gills Onions is honored to be chosen to be featured on the weekly television program, “California Country.” This program is a 30-minute tour of the state's dynamic food industry. “California Country” is produced by the California Farm Bureau and airs stories on the people, places and lifestyles that have made California the nation's largest food producing state.

The film crew spent a day in the field and packing house in King City, filming and gathering information

about the growing, harvesting and processing of onions. Bob Martin, General Manager of Rio Farms, was the ideal spokesperson for Gills Onions. With his 26 years of experience overseeing growing for Rio Farms (the grower that provides the majority of onions for Gills), Bob knows what it takes to make the perfect onion!
